The year 2016 has been very good for movie buffs. From reality based films like Airlift and Neerja holding the interest of people to pure entertainers like Sultan and Fan winning hearts all over the country, Indian Cinema is offering a good time and meaningful movie to people. The delightful fact is there is so much to come in the future too. Most amazing films with good storylines and superstars are yet to be released.
Here’s a list of 5 most awaited movies of 2016 that will soon be released.
1. Mohenjo Daro
Hrithik Roshan deliver an exceptional performance in Mohenjo Daro. The film depicts the story of one of the oldest civilizations of the world and the movie got his 1st day rating is 3.6. The story is that the Village lad Sarman is drawn to big, bad Mohenjo Daro – and its mascot Chaani. But Chaani must wed Munja, son of Mohenjo Daro’s ruler, Maham. Will Sarman find love – and more – in Mohenjo Daro?
Straight away, if you want to enjoy Mohenjo Daro, leave your disbelief by the door for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s newest blast from the past only works as a fairy tale, not nailed in history, but hanging somewhere between Game of Thrones and Baahubali.
Akshay Kumar is the backbone of Rustom. The Khiladi renders one of the most understated performances of his career, proving yet again that he can play a range of diverse roles with aplomb. The plot is interesting if not engaging. The Story of Rustom is that A Rustom Pavri (Akshay Kumar), an honourable officer of the Indian Navy shoots his friend Vikram (Arjan Bajwa) to death after discovering that his wife Cynthia (Ileana D’Cruz) had an affair with the rich businessman. The Commander surrenders himself to the Police immediately and admits to have killed Vikram but pleads ‘not guilty’ in court. Is he convicted or acquitted?
Akshay Kumar’s much talked about film ‘Rustom’ got an impressive opening despite clashing with Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Mohenjo Daro’. While Mohenjo Daro opened at around Rs 8.75 crore, ‘Rustom’ earned around Rs 14 crore on the day of its release. The opening day is the fourth best of 2016 after ‘Sultan’, ‘Fan’ and ‘Housefull 3’. The films are however expected to improve during the extended Independence Day weekend. The Tinu Suresh Desai film also stars Ileana D’Cruz and Esha Gupta as female leads.
The poster of the film is so expressive that people are dying to see the film. In a country where women are repeatedly repressed, the story of a father who trusts his daughters to be equal to men is simply amazing.
The story is loosely based on the life of a person, Mahavir Singh Phogat. He prepared his two daughters to be wrestlers despite societal oppressions and they managed to add a shine to his name by achieving glory at the Commonwealth Games.
4. Dear Zindagi
The first look of the Shahrukh Khan-Ali Bhatt starrer has hit the screens just a few weeks back. If the story involves a romantic angle, we are curious to see how the pair of seasoned romantic actor Shahrukh Khan and much younger Alia Bhatt would look on screen.
The movie seems to be based on teaching some life lessons to a young girl by a mature man. It is yet to be revealed whether the duo will have a romantic relationship or not. If not, the story will likely be based on how a life coach helps a troubled and confused girl to find her way in life.
5. Rock On 2
Some films don’t need superstars to rule the charts. Rock on was a prime example of that film. Only they need good content. If the sources are to be believed, Rock On 2 will also likely rule the charts.
The film has a well-woven story of the same characters that were seen in the first installment of the film. Now, the film depicts how their lives have changed and the viewers will be able to know the same characters from another time of their lives.
